The Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is delighted to announce the International Symposium on Advanced Materials and Devices (SAMDeV 2025), scheduled for 19–20 December 2025 at the Bose Institute, Kolkata, India. This prestigious event is being organized by the Department of Physics, IIT Kharagpur, as part of the Institute’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
SAMDeV 2025 aims to bring together leading researchers, academicians, and industry experts to discuss recent advances in Materials and Device Modelling, Quantum Materials and Devices, Optoelectronic and Photonic Technologies, and Electronic Sensors. The symposium will also honor Prof. Samit Kumar Ray in celebration of his 35 years of distinguished contributions to research, teaching, and knowledge sharing in the fields of materials science and device technology. Different technical Sessions will highlight how computational modelling accelerates material design and device optimization, how quantum materials and devices enable transformative applications in computing and sensing, and how innovations in optoelectronics, photonics, and electronic sensors are shaping sustainable energy, communication, healthcare, and smart technologies. The symposium will provide a vibrant forum for scientific exchange and collaboration, fostering innovation and shaping the future of advanced materials and devices.
